# Who makes this, and why.

About, whichfits.uk. A Markdown copy of https://whichfits.uk/about.

whichfits.uk is written and published by Jaco Olwagen. One person, a laptop, and a lot of manufacturers’ PDFs. It exists because the small purchases are the ones the internet is worst at: a review site will write two thousand words about a dehumidifier and never tell you what size your flat needs, and the shop will tell you the big one, because the big one costs more.

So every page here is a sheet: a question, a way of working the answer out, and the answer. The number in the calculator comes from a named document. The battery code in the table comes from the maker’s handbook, or, where only a parts seller lists it, the sheet says so. The date each document was read is printed at the foot of every sheet, and when a document changes, the sheet changes and the date moves.

## What this site does not do

It does not buy things, test things or rank things. Nothing here has been handled. There are no star ratings, no prices, no “best of” lists and no deals, because a lookup table does not need an opinion and a calculator does not need a favourite. If a sheet ever says a thing was used, it was, and the sheet will say by whom and when.

## How it pays for itself

The last line of most answers is a link to the thing on Amazon.co.uk. If you buy it, or anything else on Amazon in the day after you click, this site earns a small commission. You pay the same. The answer is the same. There are no other adverts and nobody is paid to be on a sheet.

## Getting in touch

Found a wrong row, a dead link, a car that is not in the table? Write to support@whichfits.uk. A correction with a link to the maker’s document goes in the same week. The method is on [how the sheets are made](https://whichfits.uk/how-the-sheets-are-made).

whichfits.uk is written and published by Jaco Olwagen, with software doing the sums. Links to Amazon.co.uk earn the site a commission if you buy something, and that is how the lights stay on. Nothing here is bought, tested or handled: every number on every sheet comes from the documents named at the foot of that sheet, with the date they were read.
